Anxiety / Panic
What is Anxiety?
At moderate levels, it is in fact an important basic survival function that helps us stay alert and focused, prepping us for critical events and warning us to get out of harm’s way or spur into action to solve problems..
However, dysfunctional anxiety can manifest in different ways such as: panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessions, irrational worry, and phobias.
Being in a constant or disproportionate state of anxiety serves no benefit and is in fact debilitating and overwhelming. Instead of being useful, it becomes a hindrance that interferes with the capacity to live a comfortable life.
There are effective ways to understand and manage our relationship with anxiety. Our psychologists can help you develop an approach for keeping anxiety in balance and for strengthening the personal resources that will unburden the strain of dysfunctional anxiety.
