Dr.
Samantha Beeken
Samantha enjoys working from a strengths-based model assisting clients to reduce their distress, resolve difficulties and achieve their self-identified goals. She has a very empathetic style and combines providing practical assistance and psychoeducation with person-centered therapeutic intervention.
Approach
I am a Clinical Psychologist with an open therapeutic style which I tailor to help address my client’s unique story and current challenges. I use a person-centred, approach to help clients resolve issues and achieve their potential. Depending on the needs of my client I incorporate ACT, CBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Interpersonal Psychotherapy to achieve therapeutic goals. I aim to meet my clients where they are at in their journey.
Experience
For the past 19 years I have worked with a wide variety of clients from young people to adults through to mature clients experiencing dementia. I have a particular interest in assisting clients who experience anxiety, life transitions and stress. I have also developed a program supporting family members of those experiencing OCD. I am an accredited Tackle your Feelings facilitator for AFL coaches.
