Experience

I have worked in Prisons, Family Services, AOD rehabilitation, Mental Health Rehabilitation and private practice. I also train other practitioners and frontline responders in trauma prevention and resolution.

Approach

I take an empowerment approach to therapy, seeking to help my clients discover the knowledge, skills, and insights they need to overcome their problems and live their best life. I believe this can only happen in an environment of safety, acceptance and choice, so I work collaboratively with the client to help them strengthen their agency in their own life.

I have studied and practiced over 40 types of therapy, and draw from many of them to find the tailored approach that will work for each client. I have a particular focus on resolving the trauma that underpins many mental illnesses, believing that if we can get to the root of the problem the symptoms will naturally abate or reduce.

I am solution focused and seek to resolve the issue in the shortest possible time so that clients can get back to living their life.
