Lucy Romano

Clinical Psychologist
My style is to work holistically, and to provide clients with a safe, respectful and supportive space, to think about their presenting issues.

I strongly believe in building on resilience by exploring strengths and empowering individuals to be proactive by establishing specific goals and strategies. Together with the individual I also explore the underlying factors which can contribute to the presenting challenges.

Experience

I have had a great deal of experience in the public sector and taken on various roles which included management, case management and counselling roles. Much of my earlier career was in Child Protection and family services, where I learned to work with individuals and families using a trauma informed lens. My more recent experience in the Domestic Violence sector has also provided me with another perspective on the impact of violence and trauma on families. My counselling experience included working in community health in both a general, and forensic drug and alcohol counselling roles. I have also worked in private psychology clinics and enjoy working with the strengths and uniqueness of each person’s situation.
